more details:

Did you know that tango developed as a street dance in Buenos Aires, Argentina between 150 to 200 years ago? The music and the dance emerged from a mixing together of many cultures as ordinary people searched for an expression of creativity, politics, fun and love. So, perhaps tango is a universal language that can help us to feel and to express ourselves.

Thousands of years ago, wise folk in ancient China studied the interactions of nature and produced really good techniques to help build and channel energies. We put these taoist practices into the pot to enrich the dance and every aspect of life. Flowing with the chi in basic tango movements and in the tango embrace, you will learn the flavours of the rhythms and delight in a fun, passionate and glorious summer’s weekend.

and even more details:

we will include:

Basic Taoist Practices:
inner smile
chi kung
six healing sounds
microcosmic orbit, ie circulating our energy, and balancing yin and yang
opening the heart centre – the energy of compassion and its relation to tango

Tango:
backdrop: history of tango music and dance
tango styles – choreography and improvisation
three rhythms of tango
essentials of the dance – the tango connection, known as the ‘embrace’, basic steps and musicality, body awareness
